My friend and I booked the 3 day Salt Flat tour through Adrenaline Bolivia as they were located at our hostel. We only wanted to do 2 days but the tour operator insisted we needed to do 3.
When I paid for the tour (not very cheap either) I had to ask for a receipt and was given the tickets the next day with no explaination of the tour except here's your bus tickets and here your tour voucher.
After speaking to a friend we were informed to make sure sleeping bags were provided in the tour. We asked the Adrenaline operator about this and she said yes you can hire them for extra cost even though she had already said there would be no extra costs.
So off we went, and things started going wrong straight away. There was no tour guide to collect us from the bus - clearly stated on the tour voucher and told to us by the Adrenaline Operator. We managed to get a lift to the tour office with a guide from a different tour complany.
Then the tour operator from Uyuni (I believe her name was Edith) informed us that we could only take 1 small bag for the tour, another thing that would've been handy to know BEFORE we left La Paz. Edith only spoke Spanish, one of the other group members politely asked her if she spoke English, to which she rudely replied "no do you speak Spanish?" Pretty obvious she didn't otherwise why would she ask?
So it was pretty clear that we didn't have a English speaking guide as we were told by Adrenaline.
Throughout the tour many other things went wrong and after speaking to our fellow group members we found out that they were given a contract when booking their tour with Adrenaline outlining all the inclusions and exclusions of the tour.
This is something we were definately not given and that would've been very handy to have BEFORE going on the tour.
Then we would've known
1) to bring sleeping bags a you have to pay an extra 50BOB to hire them
2) That you have to pay an additional 150BOB for the second night accom
3) That the accom both nights is very simple and freezing so you should pack accordingly.
To top our tour off, the bus on the way home I ordered a vegetarian meal and they said "haha sorry the kitchen didn't make you one", there was no WIFI or movies on the bus as all stated in the ticket so it was a long 9hrs back to La Paz.
We also booked a bus ticket to Copacabana through Adrenaline, the departure bus station reads - bus station so out taxi driver took us to the wrong one and we had to buy a whole new ticket with a different company.
All in all DON'T BOOK THROUGH ADRENALINE!!!!
